Are the football riots in Amsterdam being used to scare Israeli citizens in Europe to return to Israel?
Data shows that emmigration from Israel has risen by 42% while the number of Israelis returning has dropped, drastically.
The Law of Return
The Law of Return was passed by the the Knesset on the 5th of July, 1950. It was initially designed to encourage people with Jewish grandparents to immigrate and acquire citizenship in Israel.
In 1970 the definition of who could obtain Israeli citizenship was changed. Now people with Jewish mothers or those who converted to Judaism became eligible for Israeli citizenship.
Over time, the net has widened to increase immigration to Israel.
Immigration Crsis Post-October 7th
YNet, one of Israel’s largest news websites, reported in November 2024 that emmigration has increased by 42%. With 24,700 leaving compared to an average of 17,520.
In addition to this, the number of Israelis returning after living abroad decreased by 7% relative to previous decades. With 11,300 returning when compared to an averge of 12,214.

This indicates a net result of citizens leaving Israel for Europe, Australia, America, Canada and Australia.
Immigration fuels settler colonialism. Therefore, a reduction in immigration to Israel will be perceived as a threat to the exisistance of the state of Israel.
Manufacturing Crisis
By now most of us are aware about the situation in Amsterdam. To summarize, a bunch of Israeli football hooligans, supporters of Meccabi Tel Aviv, who vandalized, chanted racist chants, disrupted the minutes silence for the victims of the floods in Spain and caused havoc before their team’s match against AJAX, were confronted by Dutch citizens who took matters into their own hands.
Mainstream media tried their best to paint the Israeli football hooligans as the victims. This example from Sky News stands out. Western officials began calling this a pogrom eventhough the video evidence clearly showed that the Israeli footbal hooligans incited the violence.
One of the most surprising insights came from the Jerusalem Post, which wrote that Mossad agents had joined the Maccabi Tel-Aviv fans in Amsterdam before the unrest. Now why the Israeli intelligence agency need to join a bunch of football hooligans?
The Israeli Defence forces immidiately banned soldiers from travelling to the Netherlands and a couple of days later, they lifted this ban.
The upcoming football fixture of France vs Israel has hightened security and the Israeli government has urged citizens not to attend due to fears of another “pogrom”.
Is This Fear Mongering, Opportunistic?
Obeservers of the genocide in Gaza have become accustomed to seeing Israelis being painted as the victims even as they are carrying out the crime of crimes against the Palestinians. So what MSM did post the Amsterdam events is not a surprise.
The surprising thing has been Israel’s overreaction. Some even comparing what happened to the Israeli football hooligans, to Kristallnacht, the pogrom carried out by the German Nazi party against German Jews in 1938.
Surely, with all the video evidence, this seems ridiculous to most? Why go to such lengths to sew fear? Who are the targets of this fearmongering?
It is hard for me not to connect the mass emmigration of Israeli citizens from Israel to the way the Israeli government is behaving. Instilling fear in Jewish communities across Israel seems to be the goal. Painting the picuture that Israel is the only safe place for Jewish people world wide. If anything Israel has become more dangerous for residents due to the Genocide.
Erev Rav, a self-proclaimed anti-Zionist, Jewish group from Amstedam wrote a statement condemning the actions of the Israeli football hooligans. I think this sums it up pretty well that the fear mongering isn’t going to have the expected result!
